HSK Registration & Fees
Registration
To register for the HSK, please follow these steps:
1. Print the Registration Form or pick one up at the Confucius Institute office.
2. Complete the Registration Form including the following:
- Two recent photos. Passport size (2” x 2” or 50mm x 50mm) or smaller are required. Preferred size is 1.6” x 1.2” (40mm x 30mm). See the US Dept of State’s Composition Checklist for passport photos as a good guide.
- Valid photo identification. Send copy of mailing registration, but bring your real ID to the test location with you.
- Payment by check or money order in the amount required. (See Exam Fees below.)
3. Mail or deliver all registration materials to the Confucius Institute office prior to the registration deadline. Please see the current exam flyer or the registration form for the registration deadline, which is generally about 5 weeks prior to the exam date.

- Young Learners Test (YCT Levels 1-3) $20.
- HSK
- Level 1 – $20
- Level 2 – $30
- Basic $50.
- Elementary-Intermediate $60.
- Advanced $70.
- Business Chinese Test (BCT)
- Listening / Reading $40.
- Speaking / Writing $50.
