OUS Chiang Mai
Established over 700 years ago, Chiang Mai, Thailand is at the crossroads of time, cultures, commerce and countries. Set in the hills of northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is blessed with abundant flora, a warm climate, and the richness of the Lanna culture. To the west lies Burma; to the east Laos; and in between, a diversity of people that are unique to the region. Chiang Mai offers a livable environment in the context of ancient city walls and wats, modern hotels and office buildings, mopeds and markets.
Program Focus
Students will enroll in courses offered through the South East Asian Institute of Global Studies at Payap University. All courses are taught in English by a diverse international faculty. This program is a one or two semester program designed for students interested in becoming proficient in the Thai language and knowledgeable about Thai and SE Asian culture. It offers a well-developed language curriculum, required and elective courses in a wide range of disciplines (history, anthropology, the arts, religion, political science), and extensive field trips, excursions, and cultural activities.
