History of First Saturday:
Developed 10 years ago by the volunteer docents of Portland LanSu Chinese Garden, this monthly program has long served their 100+ members by providing a forum for professional development, continuing education, cultural enrichment, and social networking. Starting in Fall 2011, the garden volunteers and PSU’s Institute for Asian Studies formed a collaborative partnership to relocate this program to the PSU campus and in turn open it up to the PSU and greater Portland community.
