Asian American Foundation of Oregon (AAFO)
The Foundation offers, two $1,000 scholarships, annually, for qualified applicants.
AAFO Scholarship grants are open to H.S. students accepted for admission to colleges and college undergraduate students, who are US citizens and residents of Oregon, and who have demonstrated interest and participation in Asian community and cultural events, and Asian American cultural activities anywhere in Oregon.

Boran Scholarships and Fellowships: A National Security Program Initiative
Scholarships for undergraduate and Fellowships for graduate students to to study, research, or intern abroad in world regions critical to U.S. interests but underrepresented in study abroad.

Fund for Education Abroad
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as undergraduates in US universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks between June 2012 and May 2014. Awards up to $10,000 are available.

Global Studies Foundation
Grants of $1,000 towards student travel on a study abroad program.
Application deadline: July 1.
Candidates are reviewed in the Fall quarter, with award notification sent out by the end of the year.
Kawase Scholarship for International Education
Available for PSU admitted students who are admitted to a PSU-sponsored study abroad program or intl internship program. GPA 3.0+. Must be able to demonstrate financial need.
Award amount: $250-$1500 for a 10+ program; $150-$400 for a short-term program.
Kawase Scholarship for Study in Japan
This scholarship is available to PSU students who are applying to participate in one of the following study abroad programs to Japan:
(1) Waseda-Oregon summer Scholarship ($6250); Scholarship application deadline: June 1, 2012
(2) Hokkaido Summer Scholarship ($1000); Scholarship application deadline: mid-April

CIEE Study Abroad Scholarships
CIEE offers scholarships for students who are admitted into a CIEE-sponsored study abroad program. Students may apply for several scholarships at once, using CIEE’s scholarship application. Award amounts range between $500 – $8,000.
National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y)
Scholarships for eligible high school students to learn less commonly taught languages (Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Russian, Tajik, Turkish) in summer and academic-year overseas immersion programs.

Critical Language Scholarship Program
Scholarships to attend intensive summer language institutes (overseas) in thirteen critical foreign languages. Languages include all major Asian and Middles Eastern languages.

Gilman International Scholarship – Scholarships for Study Abroad

The Gilman Int’l Scholarship awards $5000 towards a study abroad program to eligible U.S. college student.
An additional $3000 scholarship is available to students going abroad to study:

SIT Study Abroad Program Scholarships
Academy of Korean Studies, Summer Program for Int’l Students
4-week intensive program in Korea for advanced (non-native) Korean language speakers
Dates: mid-July to mid-August
If admitted, the program expenses (tuition, room & board) are free. Participants are responsible for covering their own transportation costs to/from Korea.
CIEE South KOREA Scholarship Program for U.S. high school and university students
- Annual summer scholarship for U.S. high schedule students to participate in the 2-week Korea-US Youth Network Program sponsored by the Korea Foundation. (2 weeks in Auagust). Application deadline is mid-May.
- Annual summer scholarship for U.S. university students to participate in a Spring Break weeklong Korea-US Network Program sponsofed by the Korea Foundation. Application period opens in December.
- Scholarship includes airfare and program expenses.
