International Visiting Professor (IVP) Program
PSU invites professors from across the globe to share their knowledge and international perspectives on a wide-range of subjects through courses, workshops, and special lectures each summer. PSU hosts international scholars on campus every month of the year, the IVP program complements this programming.
The 2010 IVP Program theme and application process will be announced soon. Check back here for more information in late fall.
The IVP program in 2009 explored the theme of Global Engagement. Selected international professors were evaluated on the strength of their teaching and research, enhancement of PSU course offerings, and perceived contribution to the continued internationalization of the campus. The committee sought diverse global representation and new participation in the IVP program.
Selected IVP professors receive travel, accommodation and visa assistance. In addition to teaching, IVP participants are expected to provide informal community lectures as arranged by the IVP Committee.
Each fall PSU departments are invited to submit proposals to invite international professors to teach courses in their departments the following summer. 2010 applications will be available on this website in late fall.
