On-Campus Housing

University Housing operates 10 on-campus buildings and houses approximately 2,000 resident students. The on-campus residence halls are convenient and provide support services and an active social atmosphere. On-campus housing is NOT guaranteed, so you are encouraged to research your housing options early. Admitted PSU students receive first preference in PSU housing. Visiting international research scholars are placed in PSU Housing only when housing is available. See University Housing to apply. You can also find much more information about housing, including rates for each room, on the University Housing website. Consider living on the Global Village floor which houses international students together with American students! All on-campus housing unit costs include the cost of utilities (electricity, water, gas, etc.) Some units include a meal plan as well for an additional cost.

Housing Costs

The cost of a shared apartment starts at about $500/month per person, not including utilities (water, electricity, etc.). If you choose to live alone off-campus housing can start at $800 per month and can often cost $1,000 per month. Some utilities require setup fees and/or deposits. Most renters require a one-year rental contract and will expect payment of first and last month’s rent and security deposit at the time of rental.
