International Visiting Professor Program
The International Visiting Professor program is a unique opportunity for international exchange and learning at Portland State University. The IVP program invites visiting faculty from around the world to share their perspectives and expertise in a wide range of disciplines with the campus and larger regional communities. Each summer the program offers not only opportunities for PSU students to take classes from international faculty, but also for community members to learn more about the larger world around us through the award winning “Tour the World at Home” lecture series and other community events and programs.
Benefits of the program:
Host departments are able to bring special faculty from around the world to teach summer courses at PSU and to enhance department relationships with other campus units and community organizations.
International Visiting Professors teach specially selected courses at PSU, make presentations in the “Tour the World at Home” lecture series, and participate in community events. The professors receive a teaching salary, half or full airfare, housing assistance, and special guest activities (orientation, day-trips, special receptions).
PSU students and the city of Portland are the greatest beneficiaries of the IVP program!
