ISP has been busy providing special customized programs for Japanese nurses and health care professionals. During the last ten years, ISP has cooperated with medical associations and medical universities to provide special short- and long-term programs for groups of student nurses, medical/pharmaceutical/dental students, nurse managers, and professional nurses taking extended leaves from their jobs for professional development at PSU. This spring, ISP will host a small group of nurses interested in learning about the American health system, the system of nurse specialists in the US, and touring various health facilities in the Portland area, and learning about some of the newest advances in the health care field.
