Are you an international student who is going to graduate in Spring/ Summer 2012? Did you have an amazing experience at Portland State University that you would like to share with others? If you answered yes to the previous two questions, you may want to take a look at this great program!
Position Description:
The Office of Alumni Relations, along with the Offices of International Affairs, International Admissions, and Office of Graduate Studies would like to recognize students who want to voluntarily share their experiences at PSU with potential international students after their graduation. Candidates are international students who are going to graduate in Spring/Summer 2012 and who, after graduation, are either returning to their home countries or staying in the U.S.
Cultural ambassadors who return home will give a presentation about PSU in their college/high-school, and will keep in contact with the PSU Admissions Office to help answer the questions of potential students from their country. They will also help with the creation and maintenance of a PSU Cultural Ambassador’s Facebook page dedicated to their home country, and will be a key contact for faculty, staff, and the PSU President when they travel in that region.
Cultural ambassadors who stay in the U.S. will help the Admissions Office to answer the questions of prospective students, and will be a key contact when PSU faculty, staff, or the President are interested in travelling to the graduate’s home country. They will also help with the creation and maintenance of a PSU Cultural Ambassador’s Facebook page dedicated to their home country. They will also participate in various PSU events that will promote the Cultural Ambassador Program (New International Students’ Orientation, International Night, etc.).
This is a 1 Year voluntary, unpaid position with an opportunity to be renewed.
