One PSU student discovers Dublin:  A Diverse & Fast-paced City

Dublin is a bustling city with a strong mix of travelers and locals.

I have been in Dublin for several weeks now and have already learned so much about this culture and about myself outside of my home environment. Dublin is a bustling city with a strong mix of travelers and locals. The river, also known as the “liffey”, glows every night and reflects the beautiful surrounding buildings during the day.

The rain isn’t too intolerable since it comes and goes throughout the day. I take advantage of the sunlight and make it a point to walk to the studio, where I work, instead of take a bus. Despite the variable weather, the people here are constantly wonderful. They are fun loving, talkative, and laid back all wrapped up in one. Did I mention hilarious as well? I have already met so many people abroad and since I decided to stay at the local youth hostel, I am submerged in an ever-changing mix of friends and people.

My job has been relaxed lately, but when I first got here I helped my boss completely redesign and paint his film studio. Now, I am helping take inventory and organize his space so that he can ready his studio for future short films and advertisements to be filmed in. So far, Dublin is an exceptionally diverse and fast paced city. I’ve already seen Trinity College and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, but there is still much more of Dublin to uncover.
